The below-given article includes easy steps you can follow if you want to remove paint from the brick walls.

Follow these easy, simple ways to remove paint from the brick exterior:

  • Before you begin to remove paint from brick exteriors, make sure to prepare the space organized and ready for the work. There will be a lot of dust and debris while you strip off the paint from the walls. Shift your belongings from the area that you will be working. Cover the objects that are immovable or too heavy to shift.
  • If you are working on a wall outside of your home, then make sure the plants are covered with a sheet or a cloth. Excess dust and debris may hinder their growth.
  • Take an old cloth or a sheet and spread it on the floors evenly. You do not want to mess up the whole room or the area once you are done removing paint from the bricks. Putting a sheet will help you collect all the paint scrapes from the wall, clean faster, saving you time and effort.
  • Take a sponge or a wet cloth and clean the walls properly. Cleaning the walls is important as they may have dust and dirt stuck to them for a long time. If you are working inside your home, then look for cobwebs as well. Remove the cobwebs and thoroughly clean the walls using water.
  • Now take a great quality paint stripper to apply on the walls. Use a towel or a paintbrush to apply the paint stripper evenly to every brick wall corner. After applying one coat, add more 2–3 layers more to make it thick. Do not miss out on any section. Cover the wall with a plastic sheet and press it onto the wall. Using your palm, press the sheet properly on the whole wall. Remove the air bubbles, if any.
  • Now, let the compound of the paint striper settle down. Carefully follow the intrusions as given in the product details. Usually, it takes around 30 minutes to 12 hours. Let the compound settle on your brick wall settle as mentioned in the manual.
  • Check the wall once it is dried. Wear a safety glove and start peeling off the layers from the wall. Remember to do it gradually and not aggressively. Use a towel or a scrubber gently to remove off the excess dried stripper.
  • For the final touch, wash off the brick wall with water and dry off the excess water with a cloth.
